I recently completed my PhD at the Climate Change Research Centre of the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, as well as the Australian Research Council's Centre of Excellence in Climate System Science. My supervisors were Lisa Alexander, Jason Evans and Steven Sherwood.
I'm interested in all types of extreme weather/climate events, particularly in terms of the major climate drivers and observed variability, with a main focus on extreme rainfall in eastern Australia. My PhD is focused on East Coast Lows, the big midlatitude cyclones that cause a large proportion of rain and extreme weather on the east coast. I want to know why they happen, and how important local topography and sea surface temperatures are to their behaviour. If you want to know more, email me at [email protected] |
